Enjoy a Relaxing Lodge Stay at Canopy Tower, a renovated radar installment that is as close as you can get to sleeping in the rainforest canopy. Tanagers, toucans, and tityras can be seen right from your bedroom window, as can troops of diminutive Geoffrey’s Tamarins moving quickly through the trees, and Three-toed Sloths moving at a far more leisurely pace. The dining area and the roof of the tower are unparalleled for great looks at elusive canopy birds, including Green-legged Honeycreeper, Collared Aracari, White-necked Puffird, Green-shrike Vireo, Blue Cotinga, and Keel-billed Toucan.

Enjoy leisurely walks down the road from the Tower in search of Black-breasted Puffbird, Double-toothed Kite, Black-tailed or other trogons, secretive antbirds or wrens, and more, then simply enjoy watching hummingbirds vie for nectar at the feeders near the lodge.

During your stay at Canopy Tower, the Canal is ever present, providing a great opportunity to understand its operations (past and present), recent expansion, and role in Panama’s economy. From the lodge’s canopy-level observation deck, watch the sunrise and sunset as ships pass through the Canal — spectacular!
